Spoon played a show to a sold out audience on the last night of their 2010 tour of North America last Tuesday with Deerhunter and Micachu and the Shapes.
The show started at 8pm with opening act Deerhunter. Here’s a recent picture:
I missed their set but if they’re anywhere near as good as the next bands, I would suggest checking them out.
Deerhunter was followed by Michachu and the Shapes, a personal favorite of the band Spoon. They have a slow, distorted kind of sound. You can’t really understand what they’re saying, but they kick ass anyway. It was hypnotizing and a little like being underwater, the way the lights rippled across the stage.
Spoon followed looking dreamy and rockstar-like and everyone ditched the bar and rushed the stage. They played a killer set, and you could tell they were really psyched. They gave an extensive an enthusiastic performance, ending around midnight. It was awesome!
