[pullquote quote=”A person trapped by society’s narrow minded ideals and trying to escape it all! That is what I think of Rosewood!” credit=”Jared Leto”]Never a band to shy away from controversy, [lastfm]30 Seconds To Mars[/lastfm] pulled no punches in their new epic video for “Hurricane.” A mini-movie in and of itself, the original version was rejected by MTV and other outlets, reportedly disturbed by the film’s flag-draped coffins, nudity and portrayal of a transsexual character named ‘Rosewood.’

Led by actor-turned-musician Jared Leto, the band–which landed an impressive spot at number seven on Last.fm’s Best of 2010 survey–resisted calls to edit the video and allowed it to premiere fully intact. They also, however, rose to the challenge of producing a “clean” version that could air on television. Did they succeed in keeping “Hurricane” as compelling a film, even in ‘clean’ form? You be the judge.

Here for your viewing pleasure is the brand-new ‘clean’ version of the epic “Hurricane” video.
