For the clue “not on the right coast but the west coast” the answer is most likely the band “Best Coast”😉

    1. D_MONEY says:

I gotta agree with you on that one, hoping Johnson87’s is right too.

    1. brian says:

or it could be mndr. thats what i thought initialy but mstrkrft would be way better.

  3. Dandycandy says:

Gibberish….Ben gibbard? Or even better.. Death cab for cutie unless I’m all wrong

  4. Dandycandy says:

    Metric system=metric

    1. mbg says:

      could be beirut?

      1. mbg says:

sorry, middle east clue could be beirut. metric system = the meters

  5. Tos says:

the metric system clue would be too easy. Although metric can be there too, I think the clue is hinting at a Non-US (probably European) headlining act. Either Muse or Coldplay?

  6. Alex says:

the clue about rain in golden gate park and the almanac…the kinks? Possibly?

    1. nel says:

thats what i was thinking as soon as i read it..”autumn almanac”

  7. Mario says:

Carving hills: El Ten Eleven possibly?

And the impending watershed of love or whatever sounds like Washed Out and maybe Baths?

  8. ERIC says:

Washed Out might be right considering the song “feel it all around”

  9. Daniel says:

The Friday comment could be a hint towards Radiohead, they used to be called On a Friday.

  10. Daniel says:

    poler bear=arctic monkeys?

    1. Duncan says:

Minus the Bear is my guess

    2. Anna says:

      animal collective for sure!

  11. P_Craig says:

From the sound of that Friday clue, I think it’s fair to say that Rebecca Black is going to perform! I can’t wait!

    1. squid says:

  12. Daniel says:

“ranger dave is keeping a keen eye on the middle east. 2011 repeats 1848.”=Rebelution?

  13. Jake says:

    Watershed = Foo Fighters

    1. wasabi_rules_jackass says:

  14. Daniel says:

“ranger dave is settled in on san francisco soil.”=Further

    1. johnson87 says:

possibly steve miller band, they’re from san francisco as well.

    2. Zman says:

They headlined last year. Def not playin this year

  15. wasabi_rules_jackass says:

Ranger Dave is Trendy… Reel Big Fish? Trendy is one of their song titles.

  16. P_Craig says:

Also, any word if the line-up will be up at exactly 12:00 AM on Monday? The anticipation is killing me!

    1. D_MONEY says:

It doesn’t look like any time has been specified.

    2. Anna says:

      9:00 am pst!

  17. Devon says:

    Dear god.
    Don’t let Friday mean…

  18. laurel says:

“ranger dave is keeping a KEEN eye one the MIDDLE EAST…”
keen could mean Keane and the middle east could be The MIddle East. or at least I’m really hoping..!

    1. Daniel says:

      nope, that’s Rebelution

  19. luis says:

    school boy? kid cudi

  20. Eric says:

impending watershed on monday = foo fighters

  21. darkmoon66 says:

    “RNGR DV” is clearly MSTRKRFT

    1. maegan says:

i know i think it’s mstrkrft too….or maybe strfckr (starfucker)?

  22. Hooba Shakka says:

Credence Clearwater Revival!?!?! Have you ever seen the rain? Isn’t Almanac a Greatest Hits album?

  23. Cristina says:

I’m really hoping Best Coast is there

  24. dandycandy says:

so……The Parry Sound and Peter, Paul, and Mary? I hope I’m not paying to see bands that I can see at Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Fest. for free …

  25. Haley says:

ranger dave is whistling peter, paul & mary while he works.

    Peter, Bjorn, and John…

  26. Mario says:

“ranger Dave can stop now, yeah?”

    Does It Offend You, Yeah?

    Or so I hope!!

  27. santiago says:

None of the clues says THE BLACK KEYS to me…

  28. The Jones says:

‘ranger dave is the general” = Dispatch (The General). Also Mr. Teddy Jenner is a LAX player so maybe the band LaCrosse? I know it is unlikely but “can stop now, yeah” made me think of Janes Addiction – Stop.”Vacation to Parry Sound”, Parry Sound in Canada is the birthplace of Bobby Orr, so maybe the band Hockey?

    1. D_MONEY says:

I’m thinking Does it offend you, yeah? For the last clue.

  29. jesus says:

Throwing out the advent calendar = bad religion? No that can’t be right they on tour already

    1. Dee says:

I think throwing out the advent calendar is “losing my religion” which would mean REM who just released a new record…

    2. Mario says:

They could make a tour stop at OL.

  30. Ben Mitchell says:

Peter Bjorn and John is the answer to the whistling clue “young folks”

    1. Tony says:

for the school boy clue Girl Talk??? Perhaps?

  31. santiago says:

    Ok so, so far:

    Best Coast
    Peter, Bjorn and John
    Does It Offend You, Yeah?

…are more than likely. Don’t know about Foo Fightes, Muse, Metric or Death Cab For Cutie. What other bands could we pin down right now as “definitely yes”?

    1. D_MONEY says:

Ranger Dave just tweeted that a 2008 Twin peaks stage will play the Lands end stage this year (Main stage). THE BLACK KEYS played Twin Peaks in ’08.

      1. santiago says:

      2. nel says:

i noe..thats why i said the black keys..but i dont like the black keys so.

    2. nel says:

“ranger dave misspoke. its a 2008 twin peaks artist that will repeat.”

either Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, Lupe Fiasco, Wilco or Primus

      1. Daniel says:

It’s cool if The Black Keys aren’t your thing, but if they’re a band that you really hate, then your an idiot.

      2. nel says:

i used to when they came out with attack and release but now theyre all mainstream and they kinda sold out…they over play them on the radio and they got annoying so ur an idiot for just hoppin on the bandwagon

      3. Daniel says:

They didn’t sell out at all, I would give Brothers another listen. Their sound changed, but the quality remained the same.

  33. Tony says:

“ranger dave is whistling peter, paul & mary while he works”

Peter Bjorn and John??? young folks is their most famous song and has whistling….

“ranger dave never sees rain in august in golden gate park.
    almanac that”

    Thats all i got🙂

    1. dandycandy says:

yeah, i read on that decemberists and cut copy will be there

  34. P_Craig says:

Anything here indicate Arcade Fire you think?

    1. conor says:

his early tweet about LCD Soundsystem playing at Madison Square Garden was referencing how Arcade Fire played on one of the closing songs with LCD….. Maybe that was a clue? Could have been just a random tweet about this kickass show at MSG but who knows with ranger dave. hes a mischievous fellow that one
