For all of those lucky to get a coveted wristband to Coachella 2011 this year, guess what: Coachella is only four days away. Are you ready? We aren’t!

But we do know what bands we want to see and we’ve written out some snappy, information dense one-liners (plus links to more extensive spotlights on the artist) to give you a kind-of cheat sheet to some of the awesome performances you can expect to see at Coachella this year.

Don’t worry. Don’t stress. Let us do the work for you. Except we won’t lather your back up with SPF 85. You are on your own with that one.

Arcade Fire: Lush, theatrical indie-jangle from the underdogs who won Best New Artist at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffitti: Lo-fi neo-psychadelica from Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Ariel Pink is the perfect band to pretend to do drugs to.

Marina & The Diamonds: The hotter, more volatile, rock ‘n roll, British version of Katy Perry, Marina & The Diamonds is known for her Regina Spektor-esque treble and her crazy stage costumes.
Here We Go Magic: Trippy, expansive indie rock that will surely attract a crowd of bearded dudes in knee shorts and neon boat shoes.

Glasser: Dream pop baby of Los Angeles-based musician Cameron Mesirow, Glasser is a musical project to look out for on Pitchfork’s Top 100 list next year.

Gypsy & The Cat: Aussie pop duo, Gypsy & the Cat, are half glam synth/half ’70s-era Laurel Canyon Los Angeles psychedelia.

FOALS: Already popular amongst indie music fiends with their jittery, upbeat math-pop, FOALS will undoubtedly attract a gaggle of models and the most choosy of music critics.

Tame Impala: Heralded as a more druggy, meandering version of the Beatles, Tame Impala are one of the bands with the biggest Coachella buzz which means in 2012 you can say you saw them “before they were huge.”

The Drums: Former electronic dudes turned ’80s-inspired synth-rockers, The Drums list their favorite musical tool as “reverb.”

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart: Melancholic, shoegaze sweethearts TPOBPAH will a welcome, autumnal respite from the glitchy-clang of the DJ tent and give you a chance to rest your feet from dancing.

Two Door Cinema Club: Reminiscent of the electro-pop guitar hooks of french pop gods, Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club is sure to inspire a spontaneous dance party with even the most hardened of rockers.

Klaxons: Scratch that. 😦

Titus Andronicus: The future is bright for the fun, brash indie-punk band with the impossibly long name, especially since you will have to brave the harshest mid-day sun for them.

The Morning Benders: Sun, jangly Beach Boys-esque 1960s pop songwriting, make this NoCal band one of the best Coachella representations of California indie-rock.

Scissor Sisters: Do you want to dance with vaguely androgynous people wearing metallic spandex and glitter?

Gogol Bordello: Wear your mouth guard, a helmet, and your steel toe docs and get ready to mosh in the most athletic pit this side of the hemisphere.

Swell Season: Swoony Irish singer-songwriters, The Swell Season, are the perfect band to watch with your newly-minted significant other that you are trying to impress with your “romantic” nature.

Elbow:Dreamy, orchestral ’80/90s prog gods, Elbow, will bring all the old-timey music lovers and probably a devoted older celebrity or two.

Bright Eyes: Maybe you are 17 and emo anymore, but Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes is still one of the most talented indie-rock singer-songwriters out there.

Cage The Elephant: Alt-country grunge kids, Cage the Elephant, are like a happier, less drugged-out, whistling down a country road version of Nirvana.

Mumford & Sons: London indie-folk lads, Mumford & Sons, will wow you with their huge sound and their multi-instrumentalist ability.

Skrillex: Former hardcore dude turned glitchy, gangly electronic artist, mix-master extraordinaire, and G-level local icon.

12th Planet: Get dubbed out with the talents of 12th Planet.

Mount Kimbie: Another dubalicious group, expect the clouds of medicinal green to grow large over the Indio fields.

Chromeo: One of our favorite dance-pop groups out there, Chromeo bring ’80s R&B funk-electronica a la Prince.

Duck Sauce: DJ combo of Arman Van Helen and the aforementioned A-Trak, this duo will undoubtedly take the pretty youth in the wee hours of the night.

MEN: Comprised of former Le Tigre superstasr, if you are a girl who loves girls, start practicing your lip locking techniques.

Yelle: French-pop beauty, Yelle, will bring some experimental European refinement to the Indio fields.

Wiz Khalifa: Loveable stoner hip-hop star is sure to bring out an awesome guest artist, like maybe Snoop?

Nas: One of the most literate of hip-hop artists, Nas will be joined by Damien “Jr Gong” Marley and if you don’t get contact high at this show you aren’t trying hard enough to breathe.

Lil B: This kid has probably written more songs than Prince and though not one of them as good, you can at least expect a good laugh from him and his devoted fans.

Daedelus: This experimental, downtempo hip-hop producer from Santa Monica is sure to bring the chillest of vibes to the DJ tent.

Delta Spirit:Rollicking Gospel-tinged rock ‘n rollers, Delta Spirit, say you have to sing when the spirit says sing.

Henry Clay People: Glendale-natives, Henry Clay People, put on the best show you have never seen.

Best Coast: Get ready for some fuzzy, buzzy reverb and to crush on Eagle Rock’s grunge girl-of-the-moment Bethany Cosentino.

Fistful of Mercy: Consisting of singer-songwriter elite Joseph Arthur and Ben Harper and George Harrison (of the Beatles) son, Fistful of Mercy will be a melodic, mostly acoustic set of all-star players.

Foster the People: From a free residency to the Echo to being played on KROQ to having a coveted slot at Coachella, Foster the People are primed to be one of the most successful buzz bands of 2011.
