Blink-182 World Premiere First New Track In Almost A Decade – “Up All Night”

Our friends in LA got the epic song premiere of Blink 182’s “Up All Night” and are sharing it with us.  Check out the story now!

It started back in 2009 at the GRAMMY Awards – Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker took the stage together for the first time since 2004.[pullquote quote=”To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back.” credit=”Blink-182″]It was there that they announced the reunion of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blink-182[/lastfm], the band that helped create the pop-punk genre. “To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed,” their website said shortly after the announcement.

Needless to say, Blink fans were more than rejoiced to hear that their favorite trio were back together and looking to make their first new LP since their 2003 self-titled album. The big question was, what kind of album would they produce? It’s obviously been a few years since we’ve heard anything new from them, so would their music be more mature, or would it be similar to their style of old – catchy pop punk songs with juvenile topics and hilarious antics?

Our friend Nicole Alvarez sat down with Mark and Tom at Epicenter Twenty-Ten, which Blink headlined in September 2010. “When I sat down with Mark and Tom, we spoke of all things Blink-182. We spoke about the past, their brief “vacation” and the new record,” says Nicole. “In between, there were innuendos and double entendres galore and the chemistry that these guys have is more than evident. Their next album might indeed blow us all away.

After Epicenter, the buzz continued about when the album would be released. Travis was also in the midst of releasing his own album, Give The Drummer Some, which was released on March 15, 2011.

His album was an effort to pursue his passion in other genres of music, as the album is mainly hip hop – with the exception of a brand new track from the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Transplants[/lastfm] and a track on the deluxe edition featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Slipknot[/lastfm]’s Corey Taylor. Bean from The Kevin & Bean Show also dubbed this as “2011’s best album so far” back in March, and I was lucky enough to be one of the first persons to hear the album at a private listening party with Travis.

The focus of the band quickly switched back to writing, recording and finishing the new Blink album, which Geffen Records put a July 31st deadline on. Through continuous tweets from the members of the band, fans are able to keep track of the progression of the album as the band approaches this deadline. Also circulating were questions of when the Blink documentary, The Blinkumentary, would be released, which is expected to happen sometime during their tour in the fall.

Mark and Tom stopped to talk with our friends on  The Kevin & Bean Show in June to discuss their recently announced Honda Civic Tour, where they’ll be hitting the road with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]My Chemical Romance[/lastfm]. The tour comes through the Honda Center in Anaheim on October 1st (tickets) and the legendary Hollywood Bowl on October 8th (tickets). The two had a lot to say about the new album, as anxious fans tuned in to hear the latest updates. Listen to their interview below:
