[photogallerylink id=79465]Bush formed in London in 1992 shortly after vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale and guitarist Nigel Pulsford met in a London nightclub. Realizing they shared a love for such diverse artists as the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Pixies[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bob Marley[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nirvana[/lastfm] and more, they decided to form a band together.
The band found immediate success with the release of their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994, which is certified 6× multi-platinum by the RIAA. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of extensive promotion on MTV and non-stop touring. The band went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling over 10 million records in the United States.
The band separated in 2002 but the name was revived in 2010 and began work on a new album, The Sea of Memories, which was released in September 2011.
