While James Mercer‘s sweet tenor has graced the electro-soul stylings of Danger Mouse collab, Broken Bells, The Shins front man hasn’t put out an album with the Portland-based band since 2007′s Wincing The Night Away.
Shins fans are finished “wincing” five years away in anticipation of a new album. The Shins are coming out with highly-anticipated fourth studio album Port Of Morrow on March 20th on Mercer’s Columbia Records imprint, Aural Apothecary.
And they are coming out in full-force after a five-year sabbatical. Just last week, The Shins released a video for their first single, “Simple Song,” and they are already hitting us with a new one.
In true understated, minimalist style, The Shins recorded the video for their new single, “Bait and Switch,” at their Portland rehearsal space. The jangly new tune is subtle and refined art pop at its best.
