Juggling set times at multistage music festivals is a fine art that takes intense planning. This year, Coachella kept their concert-goers in the dark longer than usual to whip together the 2012 schedule for weekend one.
The deeper it gets into the weekend, the earlier the headliners go on. For comparison, on Friday night Swedish House Mafia go on at 11:30 while on Sunday night, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will be blazing up the crowd at the early time of 10:35.
But with reports that Eminem and Warren G will join the rappers onstage, the party might last until next weekend.
According to Rolling Stone, Warren G announced on his website that him and Eminem will perform with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg although the link has currently been removed from his site where it was originally reported.
There’s speculation that “Young, Wild, & Free” collaborator Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar may join them as well.
Lamar might be the “new Eminem” or Dr. Dre’s version of Wiz Khalifa to Snoop. The “A.D.H.D” rapper claimed yesterday that he has written thirty songs with Dr. Dre.
“We’re looking around summertime [to release Good Kid in a Mad City], pushing around at the end,” said Lamar in an interview. “I’m in a tight space right now. They’re trying to get that motherf**ker out immediately, but I continue to keep on working…I’ve probably got about 30 records with Dre, bro. For Detox, I locked in with Snoop and Dre…to see the two of them in the studio together, man, it just makes me think about all the old joints that they used to do on The Box and BET, ’cause they’ve still got that same chemistry where Snoop is the little wild homie and Dre is the mentor.”
