GroupLove Explains Their Commune Origins, Tour With Mumford

You probably know GroupLove from their hit track ‘Tongue Tied’ but did you know that they formed on a commune in Crete or that they are hitting the road with Mumford and Sons? After they played at BFD 2012 the band sat down with No Name to spill the dirt on their origins and their upcoming shows with Mumford and Sons.

The member of the band “kinda ended up together” in an artist commune in Crete and by chance ended up in a band together.

Christian Zucconi explained, “She [Hannah Hooper] was downstairs painting. I was upstairs writing a bunch of songs and she started singing along to her head downstairs. And ya know we all started playing together.”

GroupLove will also be heading out on tour with Mumford & Sons as part of the Mumford curated festivals called “Stopovers” along with Gogol Bordello, Two Gallants, and more.

The band commented, “It’s a big deal for us because Mumford invited us to play their show with a lot of cool bands. And they’ve got a really big song with a swear word in it and so we’re honored to be asked.”

Tour dates and music from GroupLove are at www.grouplovemusic.com.
