Dave Grohl Announces Sound City Screenings Across U.S., Canada, One Night Only

Sound CityDave Grohl‘s highly anticipated full-length documentary about a storied Los Angeles recording studio, will make its public premiere at the annual Sundance Film Festival in Utah this month.

Adoring fans unable to make it to Utah, will be pleased to learn that screenings have been scheduled for January 31, February 1 and a smattering of dates in most major U.S. and Canadian cities. Although strangely absent from the list is Las Vegas. See below for a full list of screenings. Advance ticket are available via film’s official website. The screenings coincide with Sound City’s on-sale February 1, available for DRM-free download via SoundCityMovie.com.

Grabbing recent headlines was Grohl’s announcement of the Sound City Players, an all-star jam band scheduled to appear as part of Utah’s Sundance Film Festival, January 18 at the Park City Live venue. Comprised of artists who participated in Grohl’s film, the roster includes fellow Foo Fighters Pat Smear, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel, his former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic, Rage Against The Machine‘s Brad Wilk and hardcore punk rock icon, Lee Ving of Fear as well as musical icons Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.

Since the single concert date sold out moments after its announcement, fans began speculating late last week about a potential Coachella performance.
