The Killers played two shows at the Bill Graham Civic Center this past weekend, their first time in the SF Bay Area since headlining LIVE 105’s Not So Silent Night last December, and easily lived up to their reputation of being one of the best live bands of the last ten years. Opening up with the venue lights still on, The Killers delivered hit after hit (“Somebody Told Me,” “Mr. Brightside,” “Smile Like You Mean It,” “When You Were Young,” “Human”) from their first three albums along with new songs like “Runaways,” “Miss Atomic Bomb” and “Battle Born” from their latest album of the same name. Lead singer Brandon Flowers threw in a bit of Journey’s “Lights” (on Saturday) and “Sittin’ On the Dock Of The Bay” (on Sunday) for the Bay Area and the Civic Center became the scene of killer confetti near the end of the show, with many a fan leaving the show with a souvenir “K” or lightning bolt in their hair or clothing.

LIVE 105’s Steve Masters, who attended Saturday night’s show said, “The setlist was amazing and the pyrotechnics blew my mind.” Surfer Spud remarked, “The Killers were so awesome, I even bought a $30 tour shirt!” Check out The Killers’ latest album Battle Born, available from Island/DefJam.
