His beats make you twerk.
He has massive sex appeal.
He is also headlining BFD’s Subsonic Tent.
I am speaking of the one and only Diplo.
Diplo (Thomas Wesley Pentz) is an American DJ/ Producer who within the past decade has worked with numerous artists to produce chart-topping tracks. For example his first major work was with the controversial MC M.I.A, where they both worked on the monster hit Paper Planes (Grammy nomination) and launching the recent career of Alex Clare with the track “Too Close”. Some other productions he has worked on are the recent Snoop Lion and No Doubt albums, Usher’s “Climax”, and Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)”.
Aside from assisting his colleagues in the music industry, Diplo has also released several works himself. His 2012 “ Express Yourself EP” gained him mainstream success, and introduced the moombathon genre, a reggaeton and house hybrid. Currently he is working with Switch under the moniker “Major Lazer” and recently released “Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do”. This recent release highlights Jamaica’s dancehall scene and features Santigold, Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend, Amber of the Dirty Projectors, and Bruno Mars on different tracks. This project was released on Mad Decent, the record label Diplo spearheads.
Get ready to express yourself to Diplo in the Subsonic Tent at BFD 2013 on May 19, 2013.
