You’ve heard us play their infamous song, “Sweater Weather” here on LIVE 105. Jesse Rutherford (lead singer), Jeremy Freedman (guitarist), Zach Abels (guitarist), Mikey Margott (bassist), Bryan Sammis (drummer) are the mysterious members of The Neighbourhood. Mysterious in the sense that the band likes to make photos and any background information very scarce on their website, Facebook page, and Twitter.
And although their band name is spelled in an English fashion, the band is actually from Thousand Oaks, California. Their music is a combination of Rock, Hip Hop, and R&B put together. This comes from Rutherford’s background of Hip Hop and other music genres. Appearance wise the band has their own nitch going on as well, according to an interview with MTV; Rutherford states that the band only wears black and white attire in order to show there are no grey areas with them, everything is simply black or white.
In January of 2013 the band released their debut EP called I’m Sorry… . It is a segway to their upcoming full length album that is to be released in late April called, I Love You. The Neighbourhood will be playing at BFD at the Bud Light Festival Stage on May 19th, at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA.
