Community Connection With Liz Saint John 04.20.2014

Liz Saint John interviews three guests every Sunday morning covering a variety of issues and topics. She talks with representatives from Bay Area non-profit organizations, documentary filmmakers, authors, and professors.

1. John Anyoda, volunteer coordinator for CASA of Alameda County, and Kayla, a Youth Speaks Ambassador, explain what Court Appointed Special Advocates do for the foster kids they’re teamed up with and how adults can volunteer to be trained and work with a foster youth.

2. Writer Anne Leonard talks about writing fantasy fiction, the love story she’s been pondering since her teen years, and how she took that idea of a prince with a quest and a commoner with mysterious powers and turned it into her new book “Moth and Spark.”

3. Pacifica Beach Coalition President Lynn Adams talks about Earth Day of Action on April,26th at the six Pacifica beaches and all around the city and EcoFest, the festival after the cleanup. The honoree this year is the endangered Snowy Plover, a shore bird that uses Linda Mar Beach as a nesting place every year.
