It’s not slated for release until December 2015, but Star Wars VII is already commanding a lot of attention.
Today the folks at Star Wars’ official site announced the addition of two new cast members: Lupita Nyong’o, the 2013 Academy Award winner for 12 Years a Slave, and Gwendoline Christie, best known for her role as Brienne in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
No word on who they’ll be playing alongside franchise veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford (along with Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and the other new cast members), but the movie is underway filming in Abu Dhabi what is presumed to be a Tatooine marketplace (as reported by Rolling Stone).
In addition, TMZ acquired some photos from the set of what looks like a part elephant, part pig alien creature and a few setting pics. Check those out here.
