Radiohead Rehearsing and Recording Ninth Album In September

After years of members focusing on their own projects, Radiohead will reconvene and return to the studio as a band to begin work on their ninth album this fall, as NME reports. It will serve as a follow-up to their 2011 album, King of Limbs.

“We’re going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it’s sounding,” said guitarist Jonny Greenwood on the  Mary Anne Hobbes’ BBC 6Music show, Saturday, July 12.

That’s about all the info there is, so far.

After touring for over a year behind King of Limbs, Thom Yorke joined up with Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, and percussionist extraordinaires Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco to form Atoms for Peace. The band originally started as a live extension of Yorke’s solo album Eraser, which he put out in 2006.

In the interim, Greenwood has been recording with classical groups like the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the London Contemporary Orchestra, while drummer Phil Selway is set to release a new solo album Coming Up For Air this October.
