The Buzz: Electronic Sriracha Fest, OSL Set Time Navigator, and A Very Beyonce ‘Fifty Shades’ Trailer

By Alyssa Pereira

Another week in Bay Area news goes by, and we got the stories that made it great! Check out this week’s buzziest stories, from a sweet teen’s wish, to a couple music festivals and Fifty Shades of Beyonce covering her own song.

East Bay Teen with Cerebral Palsy Makes-a-Wish to Ride the BART Train

Well this is a tearjerker. A 13-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy made a wish to ride the BART Train from the Richmond station to El Cerrito and back. BART decided that wasn’t quite good enough (duh) so they hooked up the young Austin James of San Pablo with a tour of the BART facilities and his own freaking train. Not too shabby!

Outside Lands Announces Set Times for this Year’s Festival and We Are Deeply Conflicted

Ugh, where can you get a time-turner when you need one? Outside Lands announced their set times for this year’s festival and we are all sorts of confused. Kanye is playing when Arctic Monkeys, The Killers are dueling Tiësto and that’s just the tip of iceberg. All hope is not lost though—we made some suggestions to help you out on your planning. Check it out.

The Super Sexy Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer is Released with a Beyonce Cover by Beyonce

My goodness. Earlier this week Universal Pictures dropped the very, very long-awaited film trailer for the movie adaptation of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, and immediately, hearts were palpitating all over the country. Best of all, the teaser was set to a super sexy Beyonce cover of her own “Crazy in Love”. It was spicy.

Speaking of Spicy, Have You Heard About the Electronic Sriracha Festival?

Man, we love sriracha and we’ll eat it with pretty much everything, even if that everything is actually nothing. The only thing better than sriracha is sriracha and music. The festival will come to San Jose’s St. James Park and will be announced pretty soon. Check out the details.

The Bay Area Claims Three Spots in the Top Five Snobbiest Small U.S. Cities

Whoops. According to Movoto, a real estate blog, Palo Alto is the snobbiest small city in the whole damn country. The study took into account things like private schools, art galleries and median home price per capita, and guess what? Walnut Creek and San Rafael also made the cut. Now excuse me, it’s time for my double non-fat, two caramel pumps, no-foam mocha latte.
