The Stone Foxes are a cheeky bunch. The San Francisco band have been known to put on a rollicking live show, and they’ve no shortage of charisma. I personally have seen lead singer and sometimes drummer Shannon Koehler sing a full song atop another band member’s shoulders, just because. That’s just sort of their deal.
So it’s not so surprising that the bunch are going to have a bit of fun with their newest album release. They’re planning to drop a new track the first Friday of every month from now until December, at which point they’ll release a full album (with a few live versions to boot!) called Twelve Spells.
Oh, and as apparently it’s not just enough to stream the track, they’re offering it up for download. For free.
The first track released, called “Locomotion”, is a harmonica-laden romp—a little bit brusque and a little bit blustering, but still one-upping the blues bruisers we love them for.
