No date for this Saturday? It’s okay, Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco for a reason. The City offers love for those who may be lacking it this Valentine’s Day. For a day that mostly revolves around couples, it can be easy to forget that there is quite a lot for you to do if you are single. I am here to help.
Eat Your Heart Out
Many San Francisco restaurants are having Valentine’s Day “specials”. These dinners can cost around $80 per person. Without worrying about buying for your date, you can use that money to treat yourself (“treat. yo. self.”) to a four-course meal. Don’t be ashamed to call and reserve your table for one. You love yourself more than many of the other couples in there love each other.
No Tears, Just Beers
San Francisco Beer Week rolls straight through Valentine’s Day this year. SF Beer Week’s website lists many options for beer and cider lovers to drink and be merry. Some events include “Bitter’s Valentine’s Day” at Kennedy’s Irish Club, “Chocolate, Beer, and Cupid!” at ThirstyBear Brewing Company, “Beer My Valentine w/ Bison Organic Beer” at La Snackeria in Oakland. Don’t be that drunk person crying, though.
Let the Aggression Out
The thought of finding a date, making small talk, and buying them a gift is enough to make anyone want to hit something. The Great San Francisco Pillow Fight is an event that will allow you to do this in a fun, playful way. Join many other San Franciscans in hitting each other with pillows at Justin Herman Plaza at 6pm.
