It has been confirmed that the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious action series is coming in 2017.
The announcement came at the Universal Studios hosted a panel at CinemaCon 2015 where star Vin Diesel confirmed the new film is schedule to be released in April of 2017.
With Furious 7 dominating the recent box office and grossing over 1 billion worldwide it seems like a forgone conclusion that another film would be in the works. The location and specific casting is yet to be announced. Nor has there been any hint at how the series will address the death of Paul Walker in future films.
On a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Diesel hinted that the next film might take place in New York and bring back Kurt Russell’s “Mr. Nobody” character.
