Listen: The Stone Foxes Stream New Album ‘Twelve Spells’ Online

The Stone Foxes have built themselves quite the fan base in their hometown of San Francisco. As a result, they’ve played all over the Bay, and this fall, they’ll take the stage in Golden Gate Park for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in October.

Today the 6-piece rip-roaring grungy Americana outfit dropped their new album Twelve Spells for streaming a day before the album’s official release, thus concluding their First Fridays experiment, where the band recorded and released a new song every first Friday of the month.

The good time band got a bit more serious on this album, as American Songwriter pointed out, and sang about some more tense subject matter, including health problems facing band members and topics in income inequality.

Still, the album is a roughed-up rumble, showcasing the Foxes with some of fullest sounds we’ve heard from the band in a while.

Stream the whole album here, or buy it on vinyl here.
