Kevin Klein Live, the morning show on Live 105 in San Francisco, trolled the Bay Area this April Fools morning by switching to an all-Nickelback format.
Dubbed ‘Live 10-nickel’ the fake station promised 24/7 Nickelback music and programming. This included features like “Nickelback News” and “Chad Kroeger’s Cougars”, along with promoting a brand new morning show, aptly named “Nickel and Dime in the mornings”.
The prank garnered a strong response from listeners, as calls streamed into the studio throughout the morning. For the most part, their tone was dismayed: “This is terrible”, “Make it stop”, “My favorite radio station has officially gone down the drain”, “I don’t know what you guys did with Live 105, but this is horrible”.

A collective sigh of relief was breathed when hosts Kevin Klein and Ally Johnson returned after an hour to stop the Nickelback music and return to regular Live 105 programming.
Though the Nickelback have often been voted the worst band in the world, it’s easy to forget the Canadian band’s widespread mainstream success.
