The tech community has enabled people to hail a ride, share picture across the globe, and even catch small cartoon characters in colorful balls. But now a new app is promising to do something no other technological advancement can claim – pick up your dog’s poop.
Pooper is a new app, currently being beta tested in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. The premise is simple: users pay a monthly fee to have their dog’s feces picked up and disposed of by a friendly stranger. All you have to do is download the app, then drop a pin and take a picture of the poop once your dog has done its business. One of Pooper’s “scoopers” takes it from there, collecting the turd in biodegradable bags. The company’s goal is to become the Uber or Lyft of dog poop.
The concept sounds like a joke, but the brains behind it insist that Pooper is 100% real. Kevin Klein Live spoke with Ben, one of the apps co-founders this morning. Listen to this interview and judge for yourself – is Pooper legit or just a steaming pile of… well, you know:
