Is New Nine Inch Nails Music Coming this September?

By Amanda Wicks

It’s been some time since Nine Inch Nails released new music. Three years to be exact. But if a new listing on industry database website Discogs is any indication, September will see the band premiering a new song.

Called “Dive and Slam,” the Trent Reznor-penned tune looks to arrive September 16. Nine Inch Nails last released the EP Seed Eight in 2014, but that remixed four older songs from their catalog, their last studio album came in 2013 with Hesitation Marks.

That doesn’t mean Reznor has been quiet on the creative front. His turn as Apple’s Chief Creative Officer hasn’t turned him entirely into a businessman. He and film composer Atticus Ross recently released “Juno,” inspired to NASA’s mission to Jupiter.

Song listings on Discogs can often appear and then disappear, so one entry does not mean a release is set in stone, but since Reznor said new NIN music was on its way in 2016 perhaps listeners are finally going to get what they were promised.
