Jack White Launches Interactive Music Timeline

By Amanda Wicks

If you really want to know about your favorite musician’s musical history, chances are you either have to find a biography, do a ton of research across multiple websites, or even—heaven forbid—visit Wikipedia. Well, Jack White is offering a comprehensive look at his past by launching a new interactive timeline that features an array of unreleased content.

By clicking on the album located front and center at jackwhiteiii.com, visitors can explore White’s musical history beginning with “Sugar Never Tasted So Good” on October 23, 1998 and ending with “City Lights” on August 11, 2016. With each link, visitors can see never-before-seen photographs of Jack White, The White Stripes, show flyers, handwritten lyrics and videos surrounding each song’s release.

Some of the cooler videos on the timeline are The White Stripe’s performance of “Apple Blossom” in May 2000 on Detroit Public Television’s Backstage Pass, along with their Saturday Night Live debut in 2002.

One rare feature available via the timeline is Coca Cola’s 2006 ad What Goes Around Comes Around, which contains White’s song “Love Is The Truth.” That track is now available for the first time on White’s recently released 26-track album, Jack White Acoustic Recordings: 1998-2016.
