Today’s show marked one of the few times Kevin Klein Live has touched politics in a meaningful way, as Kevin and Ally interviewed the creator of the most controversial meme during this political campaign. Pepe the Frog has been associated with alt-right and the Anti-Defamation League recently named Pepe a hate symbol, so creator Matt Furie came on to talk about the frog’s inception, how Pepe doesn’t stand for racism or hatred, and whether or not a nippleless Pepe t-shirt could be made for a female caller.
Also, honors were given to the show’s less than stellar moments over the past week with the Mediocre Awards. Honors went to moments were Ally ended up repeating others while in a delusional sick state, Useless Weirdo’s less than perfect reads of the sponsor ships, and more. Plus, the awards show even had a musical break, with a local rapper from Oakland giving us a shout out in song’s love of being a responsibly fiscal adult.
